| The Royal Ontario Museum has come a long way since the days of my high school field trips, when we'd stuff ourselves into a bus for sweaty, whirlwind excursions... ...In fact since the 1990's, things have changed a lot. Years of renovation are complete, and by now the museum has grown exponentially. One of the most awe-striking new additions is the expansive wing on Japanese and Chinese artifacts. Complete with wall-sized murals and more Buddha statues than you can shake a stick at, you'll forget the world outside and replace all thoughts with "Zen"... ...Another great new section is centered around South Asian culture, and you'll find it next to my "tried and true" favourites: Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, and Ancient...

| If you're stuck on what to do for a Friday night (and the wallet's a little light), head over to Shmooze for some cheap thrills! :-) What you'll find is a susprisingly swank atmosphere, and a very nice rooftop patio. And with a dress code to boot (collared shirts for men, no sneakers), you wouldn't even know that drinks are two bucks from 8pm-11pm. With a price like that the bar will be packed, so order your drinks a few at a time. Helpful Hints: -If you're a guy, there are plenty of attractive women to look at, so come on by and check out the scenery. -If you're a gal, make sure you come with at least a few friends,...

| So there's the "website version" of what the Bier Markt is (http://www.thebiermarkt.com/home.html), and then there's the REAL version... ...Well I love the Bier Markt. This to me, is the place to go after work and beyond, when you want to step it up from an average bar (best nights are Thurs and Fri). Sure the website boasts its 500 versions of beer and how you can pair them with the perfect sophisticated meal, but this is what it's really about: -Beautiful big patio, and candle-lit decor inside -Lots of empty space that fills up fast, which means a high potential for mingling with interesting sorts ;-) -A big emphasis on beer, but also a choice of cocktails, wine...whatever you want -Amazing...

| If you're looking to enjoy the cold weather in Toronto, get out on the ice at Nathan Phillips Square! Located right at Toronto's City Hall, this rink is a popular spot for adults, kids, and of course...love birds :-) . Skating at night is a real treat, as the rink just shines with a beautiful light display (right through Christmas). And don't be shy if you lack the skills, since falling on your bum is half the fun! (at least it was for me). After you're done whizzing around (or embarrassing yourself, as the case may be), there's a nice Timothy's coffee right across the street, with amazing hot chocolate and a stellar view of Queen St. Price: Free if you...

| When I worked in Toronto's Financial District, I used to frequent "TD square" (Bay and Wellington St). It's a place full of benches, trees, and people (between the hours of noon and 2pm). Even if you're simply walking through, you're sure to spot some "eye candy", both on the male and female level. It's not to say that I'm superficial (ahem), but when I'm working in a place that's crawling with investment bankers... well I like to look ;-) . If you really want to capitalize on this white-collar "meat market", bring along a wing-man (or woman). If you do, you might just find yourself in the midst of conversation, some laughs, and a couple of exchanged phone numbers. Now that's...

| This place has officially solved my "cheesecake problem"! The problem of course was that wherever I went, the slices I ordered were as big as my head, and let's not even start on the "bowel difficulties" that followed... At Carole's Cheesecake Cafe (located in Toronto's trendy Yorkville neighbourhood), the slices are sized "just right". And at reasonable prices, you can have yourself a slice + cappuccino for around $10 tax included. The decor is simple but cozy...a great place to bring a date. As for the picture, that is what I ordered on my visit...I call it the best cheesecake I ever laid lips on (or "Toffee Apple" to be exact). And all that's left to say is "mmmm"...
