Hundshaupten and Teufelshöhle

A wonderful Sunday excursion with children is the Wild Animal Resort “Wildpark Hundshaupten”, just a trip of about 35 minutes from Nuremberg by car.
See http://www.hundshaupten.de/
It´s interesting for children of any age as well as for their parents.
In case they are tired afterwards have a lunch or coffee break in Egloffstein, a beautiful village with a picturesque castle, having been owned by the family of baron Egloffstein for more than 1000 years. Make a stop at the Gasthaus (restaurant) where you find the most cars in front of or at one of the romantic cafés.
See http://www.egloffstein.de/
Not far from there you´ll find the biggest cave in Bavaria, the “Teufelshöhle” in Pottenstein.
See http://www. pottenstein.de/ or http://www.teufelshoehle.de/
Here you can spend an interesting Sunday afternoon even if it's stormy or rainy outside.
In case you have wonderful weather, try the Rodelbahn, just a few metres from the entrance of the Teufelshöhle. Sometimes fathers and grandfathers have more fun than children.
