Our house is located in Glen Eden, West Auckland, a leafy and relaxed suburb of Auckland, ca. 30 minutes by car from Auckland CBD and Auckland University and AUT. Just around the corner is a bus stop with direct bus connections to the city (ca. 50 minutes to CBD). Close by are the West Coast beaches (Piha, Karekare - ca. 20 minutes by car), and artsy Titirangi village with arts & crafts shops, cafés and a small theatre and art gallery (ca. 2 minutes by car). Glen Eden shops (butchers, bakeries etc.) and supermarket are ca. 4 minutes away by car. Within walking distance (ca. 1 minute) are two convenience stores, a hairdresser and 4 takeaway food outlets (Chinese, fish and chips, fried chicken and a very good Thai). The Oratia Farmers Market, held every Saturday and a great source for fresh produce and local cheese, meat, baked goods etc, is 1 minute away by car (or 30 minute walk).
Henderson’s Westfield Mall is the closest shopping mall with all the chain stores, gym and cinemas etc. and ca. 5 minutes by car away, or 10 minutes by bus (direct connection).

The house was built in the 1920s as a classic weatherboard style bungalow. It features (partly) wooden flooring (carpet in living area and children's rooms), stained glass windows and other period features. It has a warm comfortable family feeling with large light rooms.
Rooms: 1 large master bedroom with semi-ensuite, 1 large kids room, 1 smaller (but still double-sized) kids room, 1 large living room with open fireplace and French doors leading to deck, 1 large light kitchen with modern appliances and family/dining area (incl. 'reading sofa' with views over garden), 1 laundry.
The driveway provides space for 2 cars, plus an additional garage to park a car inside or use for storage.
The large garden and deck is ideal for kids, or just nice to look at (lawn mowing is provided).

Ideal for occupants who enjoy tranquility, hiking (in the nearby Waitakere Ranges) and/or the outdoors (beach walks etc). Beautiful weekend trips within easy reach (under 45 minutes) north of Auckland.
The house is perfect for children (ours are three and one) as we have cot/highchair/pram/playpen/ride-one toys etc. Two French doors (from separate lounge and from dining area) lead onto a huge deck which is safe for children. The garden itself is huge and safe (fully fenced) with swings and a playhouse. Depending on the time of year you can feast on home-grown grapes, figs, pears and olives and you’re more than welcome to plant a large vege garden!
