Howard Buford Recreation Area
The Howard Buford Recreation Area is located east of Interstate Highway 5, just outside of Eugene and south of Springfield. It consists of 2,363 acres of natural parkland and includes Mount Pisgah, which rises 1000 ft. above the floor of the Willamette Valley, and the Mount Pisgah Arboretum. With wildflower meadows, oak savannas and walking trails through mixed forest, Mount Pisgah Arboretum is a favorite destination for those in Eugene or nearby Springfield who want to enjoy the natural beauty of the area.
