The Sydney Fish Market

There's no place like the Sydney Fish Market for seafood in terms of freshness and price. Salmon, tuna, and king fish sashimi, prawns, squid, oyster, urchin....All it has here is inexpensive and brilliant food. Eat it fresh or cooked, there's also a very convienient bakery and deli with various sauces to flavour seafood the way you like. Then grab a seat outside by the marina. Enjoy your fantastic lunch ever! Remember to get there earlier as the Fish Market closes at around 3 pm every day. Most Sydney buses that leads to Pyrmont will take you there. Wine tasting at Hunter Valley

Hunter Valley is the oldest wine producing region in Australia. The region is a very popular place to visit for weekend getaways, weddings and, of course, for its wineries. I can't tell you exactly how many wineries there are in Hunter Valley, but I can assure you there are a lot -- from small family run winery to big exporting brands. There are also excellent restaurants and accommodation around the region, but it can be quite full during high seasons and need to be booked way in advance. And for the families, there are also a great variety of activities to do: the kids will love visiting the chocolate/sweets factories, or you may like to admire the beautiful flowers and garden...

Kinokunyia

You guessed it. It's not Aussie at all. Kinokuniya is a bookstore imported from Japan. Located at level 2 of The Galeries Victoria on George Street, the bookstore offers a large range of books in different languages, e.g. English, Japanese, Chinese, French and German. They are very well known, especially for their great variety of art and design books, Chinese and Japanese comic books as well as their cute and fancy stationery. There is also an in-store art gallery and a cafe to complete the artistic atmosphere. After spending half a day in the bookstore, I also like to have a Japanese ramen at the ramen shop Ichiban Boshi, which is just outside Kinokuniya.

Three Wise Monkeys

Located at the most bustling and flourishing corner in Sydney CBD, with its three eye-catching monkey statues, it's not hard to be symbol of local pubs, and the first choice for those night players. I always saw a long queue at the entrance when passing by, but just seized a single chance to get into it. Well...not as big and comfortable as I thought, not as fashionable as I thought...there are two or three levels in the pub - too dark to see (I was not drunk!)- strong smell over the stairs. Really too dark to enjoy the atmosphere, maybe dark is its style, I'm not sure. Maybe it depends on individuals, anyway, good to check it out yourself!

Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras

The festival lasts for about a month but the annual Gay Parade is usually held some day in March. In 2007, the parade marched from Hyde Park, through the heart of Sydney, down to Oxford Street, attracting about 300,000 people lined the streets to watch it. The purpose is to call for greater equality and celebrating the gay and lesbian community in all aspects of society. Suport it or not, it's great entertainment.
